Victim’s fund gets more cash

July 19, 2000 By admin Leave a Comment

$3.3 million will be going to groups and agencies helping Missouri victims of crime this year. It’s headed for the State Services to Victims Fund. Vicky Scott of the Department of Public Safety says the help isn’t for victims of just any crime, only violent crime. The assistance is for things like DWI, sexual assault, and domestic violence. The money for the fund comes entirely from judgments and $5 court costs assessed against offenders. None of it comes from the state’s general revenue fund.
