Independent candidate for governor Larry Rice of New Bloomfield has made it official. He has filed 24,000 signatures with the Secretary of State’s office in an effort to make the November ballot. If 10,000 of those signatures are verified as registered voters, he’s on the ballot. Rice acknowledges he won’t be able to amass the campaign war chests Democrat Bob Holden and Republican Jim Talent have, but he says he will outwork them in the campaign.
