Mizzou Athletes Aim for Olympics

Mizzou assistant track coach Darin File has taken the first step in his attempt to make the U.S. Olympic team. File has advanced to the finals of the javelin throw by finishing seventh in the preliminaries.Mizzou runner Ashley Wysong, a Nevada native, and Derrick Peterson will attempt to make the Olympic team in the 800 meter run later this week. Wysong won the women’s 800 in the Big 12 outdoor meet in May. Wysong says she’s very willing to miss class time at Mizzou, if she makes the Olympic team that would compete in Sydney, Australia this fall.
