No telling Senator Joe Maxwell he’s done any wrong accepting a campaign donation others are calling questionable. Maxwell made much ado about returning money last January that exceeded new state limits, only to have one of them reappear in his campaign one day after being routed through a political committee. Maxwell questions whether the $11,000 dollars is even the same money. He insists he has followed the letter and spirit of the law. His primary opponent, democrat Gracia Backer, says Maxwell has at least broken the spirit of the law.
