2 people have died in St. Louis this week from heat-related causes. They’re the first of the year in Missouri. 100 people died in the state last year. Most of those were elderly residents and the state health department is encouraging people to keep track of older neighbors and family when it gets so hot. Rackers says the elderly are already more fragile. She says they’re also more likely to forget to use air-conditioning even if they have it. Rackers hopes we don’t have a repeat of last year.
