"Dos Carlos" Out as Second Half Starts

July 13, 2000 By admin Leave a Comment

The Royals return to action tonight missing Dos Carlos. Center fielder Carlos Beltran and 2nd baseman Carlos Febles are both on the D.L. Febles is just about ready to return from a shoulder injury, but will spend the next few days rehabbing at Triple-A Omaha. The Royals host the Milwaukee Brewers the next three days, followed by a visit by Sammy Sosa and the Cubs. The Royals’ highlights in the first half of the season included a string of late inning wins early in the year, and sending Jermaine Dye and Mike Sweeney to the all-star game, the first time Kansas City has had two all-stars since 1989. But a recent skid has left the Royals seven games under .500 and 15 games behind the first place White Sox.
