A group of Missouri farmers are calling on US Agriculture Secretary Dan Glickman to enforce the Packers and Stockyards Act. That legislation prevents price controls and price manipulation. The complaints were aired by the Missouri Rural Crisis Center. Montgomery County farmer Jim Foster says packers buy tens of thousands of animals from themselves that are packer-owned, a clear violation of the Stockyards Act.
