The life of a Missouri death row inmate has been spared until at least August. The 8th Circuit Court of appeals late today put a hold on Mose Young’s execution because of allegations of witness tampering. The court ordered a St. Louis federal judge to hear accusations that St. Louis Circuit Attorney Dee Joyce-Hayes threatened a staff member who planned to criticize Young’s defense during his trial. Judge Jean Hamilton scheduled that hearing for July 24th. Young murdered 3 people in a St. Louis pawn shop in 1983…and escaped execution dates in 1986 and 1990.
