Domestic abuse bill signed

July 11, 2000 By admin Leave a Comment

A bill designed to crack down on domestic violence in Missouri has been signed into law. Governor Carnahan today held signing ceremonies in Kansas City, Columbia and Springfield. The bill creates the separate crime of domestic violence–a felony–and increases crime reporting on domestic abuse. The bill was sponsored by state Senator Ken Jacob (D-Columbia) and Representative Vicky Riback Wilson (D-Columbia).
