The Missouri State Fair is looking for hundreds of temporary workers to fill out its work force. The fair itself employees 400-500 people…concession stands and the carnival employ another 200-300. Unemployment in Pettis County is down to 1 1/2% and applications are slow to come in. Fair director Gary Slater says there are jobs available in admissions, as ushers in the grandstand area, and on the carnival grounds. Slater says janitorial jobs are traditionally the hardest to fill. He expects 350,000 visitors to the fair during its run from August 10th-20th.
