The World TeamTennis season gets underway tonight when the Springfield Lasers visit the Kansas City Explorers. Springfield opens its home season tomorrow with a visit from Monica Seles, who is playing for the Hartford Foxforce. Springfield finished second in the league last year with a 9-3 record, and lost in the championship match against Sacramento. Neither the Kansas City nor the Springfield franchise has a marquis player, but Wimbledon champ Venus Williams will play selected matches for the St. Louis Aces.
