Both teams had chances, but it was finally the White Sox that took advantage, and beat the Royals 6-3 in 13 innings. Herbert Perry hit a two-run homer off Doug Bochtler in the 13th, and Mark Johnson followed with another home run for the White Sox. The Royals’ best chance came in the eleventh when they loaded the bases with one out for Mike Sweeney, who bounced into a double play.
