Whatever political stigma might have been associated with appearing with President Clinton seems to have vanished. When the president comes to Columbia today, he will share the stage with Governor Carnahan. Carnahan spokesman Jerry Nachtigal reminds us the governor has made it clear the president’s conduct in the Lewinsky affair disappointed him. He denies the visit is political, even though it will touch on a politically charged issue in Washington–competing proposals for managed care legislation.
