Missouri’s limits on the amount of money political parties can legally donate to individual candidates is constitutional. So says a federal judge in St. Louis who has restored the law passed by the Legislature in 1994. Attorney General Jay Nixon says this will close a campaign loophole. A challenge brought by the state Republican Party led to the law being set aside. The G-O-P may yet decide to appeal the ruling to a higher court.
