We might be seeing a lot of new ads about problem gambling soon. The governor this week signed a bill creating a half million dollars a year for new publicity for the 888-BETS-OFF help line. The measure also makes it a crime to help someone under 21 get on a casino boat to gamble, and makes it a misdemeanor to board a gaming boat yourself if you’ve admitted to a gambling problem. Shelly Perez with the Missouri Alliance to Curb Problem Gambling says the bill creates $500,000 dollars a year to promote problem gambling education.
