State Auditor Claire McCaskill is the latest state official to jump in the fray over oil prices. She says she’s willing to help the governor’s task force on fuel price increases, although she can’t audit non-government entities. She says she’ll offer any assistance her office can provide, such as financial analysis. McCaskill says her office has received many calls asking her auditors to investigate gas stations, which she cannot do.
