Governor Carnahan has signed into law a House bill that strengthens the crime of financial exploitation of an elderly or disabled person. He says the legislation will help prosecutors go after a caretaker or other person who takes financial advantage of a senior citizen or mentally handicapped victim. It also provides stronger penalties.
