Rains aid Big Muddy

June 27, 2000 By admin Leave a Comment

Recent rains in Missouri have helped ease dry conditions in parts of the state, but haven’t ended conservation measures taken by the Army Corps of Engineers concerned about the level of the Missouri River. Paul Johnston with the Corps’ office in Omaha says the Corps has undertaken steps to offset dry conditions upstream. Johnston says the recent rain in Missouri has raised river levels somewhat. The Corps expects to be able to keep river levels high enough to maintain navigation throughout the year.
