Gas prices are hitting emergency services agencies as hard as everyone else. Maybe harder when you consider how much time they put behind the wheel. Bruce Groteweil, director of the Capitol Region Emergency Medical Service, runs a fleet of ambulances. His vehicles travel 160,000 miles a year. He says, in the end, the higher fuel prices will probably have to be passed on to patients.
