KC police surrender money

June 23, 2000 By admin Leave a Comment

Kansas City police deny they have been keeping money from drug forfeitures and seizures. Their attorney says the group has only been holding the money, not knowing how to get rid of it. Now board members have asked their attorney to call the judge and get rid of the millions of dollars. The attorney general wanted this to happen all along. He had notified the lawyer for the board earlier this month that he was suing because negotiations on the matter were taking too long. The threat has prompted the board to put a settlement on the fast-track.
