Blues Will Lose Two to Expansion

June 23, 2000 By admin Leave a Comment

Today is the NHL’s expansion draft. The Blues will lose two players to the Minnesota Wild and Columbus Blue Jackets, as those franchises stock their rosters. The Blues chose to protect two goaltenders, Roman Turek and minor leaguer Brent Johnson, which means they were only able to protect three defenseman. They are protecting Chris Pronger, Al MacInnis and minor leaguer Bryce Salvador. The rest of their defensemen and backup goalie Jamie McClennan are exposed. The Blues will lose one forward, and either McLennan or a defensman.
