SUV sales to slide?

Could high gasoline prices affect sales of some of the Missouri-made sport utility vehicles? There doesn’t appear to be a lot of concern over it. Rich Voytowich, a spokesman for Ford Motor Company, says the gasoline price hikes do not seem to have had any impact on sales of Ford cars and trucks — including sport utility vehicles built in the St. Louis and Kansas City areas. He believes gas is only one of several items people look at when buying a vehicle.
