The Department of Natural Resources is awaiting Governor Carnahan’s signature on two bills that made it through the last session of the legislature. DNR is looking to collect some much-needed funds once the bills are signed. One of the important bills passed by the legislature this year revises the water pollution permit fee structure. Another piece of legislation affecting the Department of Natural Resources focuses on hazardous wastes. The department’s Scott Totten says both pieces of legislation allow DNR to collect more money for services it provides.
