June 19, 2000 By admin Leave a Comment

St. Louisan Hale Irwin, three-time winner of the U.S. Open, says he may have played in his final Open. Irwin shot 69 yesterday to finish twelve over par. He says he will not try to qualify for future Opens, meaning he would have to win the U.S. Senior Open to get in. Kansas City’s Tom Watson tied Irwin at 12-over par. Watson says he will attempt to qualify for future Opens. Tiger Woods won the U.S. Open yesterday by a record 15 shots, finishing at 12-under.
