The Cardinals six game winning streak is over. Los Angeles roughed up Darryl Kile for five runs in the third inning to beat the Cards 6-3. Mark McGwire gave the Cardinals a lead with his 25th homer in the first inning. The Dodgers cut the lead to 2-1 before scoring five times in the third, the last three runs coming on Adrian Beltre’s home run. St. Louis was 6-3 on its road trip, and returns home with a 6 and 1/2 game lead over the struggling Reds. The Cardinals are off today and may place 2nd baseman Fernando Vina on the disabled list before tomorrow’s game with San Francisco. Vina re-strained his hamstring Saturday.
