Tens of thousands of spectators are expected near the Wilson’s Creek Battlefield just outside of Springfield this weekend for the reenactment of the Civil War Battle of Wilson’s Creek. There are actually three battle reenactments being staged over the weekend and organizer Dan Keesler says they make the re-creations as accurate as possible. The reenactment is not on the actual battlefield, but it won’t be hard to find the site. Money from the event goes towards historic preservation of the Wilson’s Creek Battlefield.
