Police in St. Louis County insist law enforcement officers killed two drug suspects out of fear for their lives. Undercover drug agents shot and killed two men Monday at a fast food restaurant in Berkeley. Police admit Earl Murray and Ronald Beasley fired no shots during the attempted arrest but haven’t revealed if they were armed. A St. Louis County police detective heading the investigation says the men fired out of fear they would be run over. Both men involved in the shooting have been placed on standard leave. They have only been identified as an agent of the federal Drug Enforcement Agency and police officer from the St. Louis suburb of Dellwood.
