The Environmental Protection Agency this week moved to ban a popular pesticide known as Dursban and Lorsban because of health risks to children. The EPA’s Mary Jane Wingett in Kansas City says the pesticides will be banned for home use and there will be restrictions for agricultural use as well. The agency has concerns about potential damage to the nervous system and brain development of children.
