Southwest Missouri State played a tough basketball schedule last season, yet was still left out of the NCAA tournament. That snub hasn’t changed the scheduling philosphy at SMS. The Bears have announced that they will play the Kansas Jayhawks this upcoming season in Kansas City. SMS and Kansas will meet December 30th at Kemper Arena. Bears coach Barry Hinson says he is committed to playing a tough schedule.
