Schnucks Markets is recalling a batch of sandwich meat potentially infected by the Listeria bacteria. The 60 pounds of sliced ham sold under the name “Hickory Pit smoked ham with natural juices” has a sell-by date of June 10th. Company spokeswoman Marie McGeehan says a random USDA check detected the Listeria. The meat was sold to six St. Louis-area stores, the Schnucks in Columbia, and one in Evansville, Indiana. McGeehan says the packages have been pulled from affected stores.
