I’ve wasted some time over the last couple weeks watching the Ray Lewis murder trial. And I mean wasted. The entire process is a waste of time. Not just my time, but the jury’s, the judge’s, the lawyers’, Court TV’s, everyone’s. The prosecution has paraded several witnesses to the stand who have testified they never saw Lewis with a knife in his hand or even saw him strike anyone. These are the PROSECUTION’S witnesses! The state thought their testimony would help convict Lewis of murder? They only thing they’ve got on Lewis so far, is that he flat lied to police the morning after the killings. Prosecutors are hoping that the lies show Lewis had a guilty state of mind. That’s quite a leap. Maybe he was just trying to protect his reputation, knowing that a circus trial was sure to follow if he was linked to the killings. Because that’s what we’ve got, a circus. I have no idea whether or not Ray Lewis killed someone that January night. I do know that the prosecution has shown us no evidence that he did, and if that’s all they’ve got, then these charges should never have been filed.
