Three Tigers Advance to Finals

Three University of Missouri athletes have advanced to the finals of their events at the NCAA outdoor track and field championships. Derrick Peterson, the defending national champion in the outdoor 800 meter run, finished second in his heat. Ashley Wysong finished second in her heat in the women’s 800 to qualify for the final. Ryan Pirtle qualified ninth for the steeplechase final. All three finals are on Friday.Today, Jill Aholt and Michelle Moran will complete the heptathalon. Moran is 8th after day one, and Aholt is 19th. Christian Cantwell will compete today in the shot put. He earned all-America honors during the indoor season.
