Sundvold’s Assistant Denies He Wanted Job

May 31, 2000 By admin Leave a Comment

Bob Sundvold’s top assistant coach at UMKC says he had nothing to do with Sundvold being fired. The Kansas City Star reports that last week Sundvold said he felt Steve Eck played a role in Sundvold’s dismissal. Eck says that is untrue. Eck points out that he had a chance to take at Seminole Junior College in Oklahoma and Sundvold encouraged him to turn it down, saying he would help Eck get a better job later. Eck came to UMKC this past season from Butler County Community College, along with Kangaroo’s star Michael Jackson and two other players.
