Suppan Shuts Out Rangers

May 25, 2000 By admin Leave a Comment

Jeff Suppan hadn’t won in his eight previous starts. Texas had won seven in a row. Those streaks are over. Suppan shut out the Rangers over eight innings, giving the Royals a 3-0 win. Suppan allowed six hits and three walks, as he improved to 2-4. He worked out of trouble all night, as the Rangers stranded at least one runner in every inning. Jerry Spradlin worked the ninth for his fourth save. Brian Johnson drove in a run with a double in the third, and Mike Sweeney had a two run double in the 7th. Also yesterday, manager Tony Muser received a contract extension throuth the 2002 season.
