No Senate Vote on China Deal Until July

It will likely be July before the U.S. Senate votes on legislation to normalize trade relations with China. That’s the word from Missouri Senator John Ashcroft who says he’ll use the time to work to make sure an enforcement mechanism is in place to safeguard against unfair Chinese trade practices. Ashcroft says he’s particularly concerned about the practice of dumping — which sees the Chinese selling low-cost goods in this country below production costs in China.
