An end to potential confusion for Democrats on the primary ballot in August has come. Richard A. Gebhardt has dropped out of the race for the Democratic nomination for Missouri’s 3rd District, which happens to be represented by US House Minority Leader Richard A Gephardt. Democrats had claimed Republicans pushed the sound-alike into the race in an effort to confuse voters. He now has withdrawn, claiming medical reasons for the decision though he told the St. Louis Post-Dispatch if Democrats hadn’t put so much pressure on him, he might still be there.
