Governor Carnahan has a bit more cash to spend in his battle to unseat Republican incumbent Senator Ashcroft. A bit more in political terms, that is. Six of the Senate’s most prominent Democrats came to St. Louis for a Friday evening fundraiser and left Carnahan $400,000 richer. Carnahan calls it a “real shot of adrenaline for our campaign”. The Senators included Senate Majority Leader Tom Daschle of South Dakota. The other senators on hand in Ladue were Evan Bayh of Indiana, Richard Durbin of Illinois, Tom Harkin of Iowa, Carl Levin of Michigan and Robert Torricelli of New Jersey.
