Jose Santiago’s sterling relief effort keyed the Royals 10-6 victory over Anaheim. The Royals got home runs from Carlos Beltran, Joe Randa, and Dave McCarty, but Santiago was the key. The Angels scored six runs in the first four innings before Santiago entered in the sixth and shut the door. He retired all 12 men he faced, striking out four to get the win and improve to 4-1. Beltran had three hits, and Randa drove in three runs. The win allowed the Royals to avoid the sweep in Anaheim, and finish their road trip with a record of 6-6. The Royals have today off before hosting Texas tomorrow.
