Farm Bureau Endorses Republicans

May 20, 2000 By admin Leave a Comment

The Missouri Farm Bureau is supporting a pair of Republicans in November’s statewide political races. In the contest for John Ashcroft’s U.S. Senate seat the Farm Bureau is endorsing the incumbent over his Democratic rival, Governor Mel Carnahan. In the race to succeed Carnahan the Farm Bureau is supporting St. Louis area Republican Representative Jim Talent over state Treasurer Bob Holden. Saturday’s voting saw Ashcroft and Talent each receiving more than ninety percent of the ballots cast. The Farm Bureau says that’s a much higher margin than what is usually seen when the membership decides on endorsements.
