The Royals fell behind 3-0 early, but scored four runs in the sixth inning and held on to beat Oakland 4-3. Ricky Bottalico and Jerry Spradlin combined to shut out the A’s over the final three innings and give the Royals the victory. Spradlin earned his third save. The Royals strung together four hits and an error in their four-run sixth. Carlos Beltran singled home the go-ahead run. The Royals took two of three from Oakland and are off today. They finish their road trip with three games in Anaheim, starting tomorrow.
