Scott Rolen hit a pair of home runs and Ron Gant had a three run blast, as the Phillies beat the Cardinals 5-4. The Cards had rallied from a 4-2 deficit to tie the game at 4, but in the bottom of the 7th, Rolen hit his second homer of the game off reliever Heathcliff Slocumb. The Phillies scored four runs in the fifth against Darryl Kile. Ron Gant hit a three run homer to erase a 2-0 Cardinal lead, and Rolen hit a solo shot. The teams play the rubber game tonight.
