Suzuki Bails Out Royals, Beats Tribe

May 15, 2000 By admin Leave a Comment

Mac Suzuki gave the Royals what they desparately needed, innings, and Kansas City escaped Cleveland with one victory in a four game series. Suzuki pitched into the ninth inning, and was lifted after giving up a home run to cut the Royals lead to 5-4. Jerry Spradlin came on to nail down the victory for Kansas City. It was just the sixth save in 14 opportunities for Kansas City. Mike Sweeney had four hits, and Joe Randa had a home run, as the Royals scored single runs in five different innings, and held on at the end. They play in Oakland tonight.
