Mark McGwire makes more history. McGwire has tied Mickey Mantle on the all-time home run list. McGwire smashed two home runs Sunday to catch Mantle with 536 home runs, and the Cardinals outslugged Los Angeles 12-10. Next on the list is Mike Schmidt who hit 548 home runs. Craig Paquette was another of Sunday’s heroes, with five hits, including a home run, and four RBI. Jim Edmonds also homered, as the Cardinals avoided a sweep, and pulled back in front of Cincinnati for first place by a half game. The Cardinals are off today before starting a six-game road trip in Philadelphia.
