Royals Blank Tigers Behind Fussell

May 11, 2000 By admin Leave a Comment

Chris Fussell gave the Royals another strong pitching performance, and Kansas City rang up its second straight road victory, shutting out Detroit, 6-0. Fussell allowed just two hits in six innings and struck out four. Jerry Spradlin and Jay Witasick combined for three scoreless innings of relief. The Royals got two hits each from Jorge Fabergas, Mike Sweeney and Johnny Damon. Kansas City has won five straight and opens a big four-game series tonight in Cleveland. The Royals are a game ahead of the Indians in the Central, and a half game behind the White Sox. Chad Durbin will start for the Royals tonight against Jaret Wright.
