A former Morgan County deputy sheriff has pleaded not guilty to charges he extorted money from a parolee facing revocation. Federal charges accuse Robert Storey of Versailles of getting 12-hundred dollars from Harold Houston by telling him he would not seek drug charges against him. The charges could have led to revocation of Houston’s parole. Houston was later arrested. His parole has been revoked. State charges of methamphetamine making are pending.
