Estelella Powers Giants Past Cards

May 9, 2000 By admin Leave a Comment

Over the weekend, the Cardinals were beaten twice by the bat of Ken Griffey. Last night, they were done in by…. Bobby Estelella? Yes, Bobby Estelalla. The Giants’ catcher hit two home runs as San Francisco beat the Cardinals 6-4. Pat Hentgen lost his fourth straight start, allowing four run on five hits and five walks in six innings. The Cardinals scored all of their runs on homers. J.D. Drew and Larry Sutton each went deep, and Mark McGwire hit career homer number 534, tying him with Jimmy Foxx on the all time list. The Giants have now won seven straight in their new ballpark. Tonight, the Cardinals will send Garrett Stephenson to the mound against Russ Ortiz.
