Suspected Perjuror Caught

May 5, 2000 By admin Leave a Comment

A man wanted as a fugitive for a year-and-a-half on a Kansas City perjury case has been caught in Cape Girardeau. He’s Tom Butner, who was a paid informer for police in a contract murder case. After a woman was convicted in the case, it was revealed Butner had given a false name during her trial and had not told authorities he also had been a witness in another, earlier, case. Authorities think Butner had been hiding out in Los Angeles, but had gone to Cape Girardeau to meet somebody he had contacted through the internet.
