"Older Worker of the Year" Honored

May 5, 2000 By admin Leave a Comment

Missouri’s “Older Worker of the Year” is cleaning up. That’s what Albert Fountain does for a living at age 70. He’s the janitor at the Mark Twain Elementary School in Hannibal. The state Division of Workforce Development and the state Senior Employment Coordinating Committee has picked Fountain from among 150 nominees. The school celebrated his 70th birthday in April by making him “Principal for the Day.” When he’s not keeping the school clean, he’s captain of the American Legion Color Guard and is a member of three choirs in Hannibal.
