William Woods College in Fulton will hand a diploma to a special student tomorrow–its first blind equestrian student. Equestrians are people who ride horses. Melissa Smith of Mexico will get a bachelor of science degree in interdisciplinary studies. She hopes to work as a manager, trainer or groomer in the equestrian industry. The school says she rode 80 horses in the college’s show ring. Her instructor says she rode some horses that even sighted students could not ride.
