For many years, the St. Louis Post-Dispatch had a personal advice columnist called “Martha Carr.” For ten years in the sixties and seventies Martha Carr was really Dorothy Gardner. She died Saturday, on her 95th birthday, at a Chesterfield nursing home. She retired as a columnist in 1974.
